The Faculty of Siddha Medicine is the foremost Higher Education Institute in Sri Lanka that provides instructions in the Siddha system of Medicine in English medium for undergraduates. It was established in 2008 at Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka with the approval of the University Grants Commission and Ministry of Higher Education for training and research in Siddha Medicine. The Faculty of Siddha Medicine produce qualified graduates to maximize the contribution of Siddha Medicine to global health and sustainable development. Furthermore, the Faculty of Siddha Medicine has focused on evidence-based learning with research. At the same time, the Faculty of Siddha Medicine maintains its local heritages, resources, and traditional principles. In addition, the syllabi contain study material on Siddha Medicine and other integrative medicine approaches to produce a competent Siddha Medical graduate to enhance the Siddha Medical system in Sri Lanka and meet the current challenges in health.
