Students become more motivated, self-directed learners when they understand the relationship between academics, career and education planning and achieving their own career goals. The importance of choosing a career lies in its ability to provide direction and focus for goals and aspirations. Hence to make the undergraduates aware of the employment opportunities available and the qualities and the skills expected by the employers are very essential.

While selecting a career, a student should try to match his or her own interest, basic qualities as well as specific qualities, which a specific field may demand (e.g., a student planning to pursue a career in management must have good communication skill), and the resources available to him/her with the requirement of the career option.

The Career Guidance Unit / Faculty of Siddha Medicine is being a suitable platform to improve the BSMS undergraduates' education to the highest attainable standard to satisfy the expectations of employers and productive employment opportunities, and to a high quality living standard.

The CGU / FSM, conducting the knowledge sharing and skill developing programmes to the BSMS students to identify the availability of career opportunities for BSMS graduates for build a career successfully in their future.
